The Free Fix-It Guide

Exactly what to fix on your Google profile, in order. Every line in your roast points to one of these steps. Most take under 15 minutes.

  1. 1

Ask every customer for a review

Review count is the biggest part of your Roast Score.

    • Copy your review link from your Google profile (Ask for reviews).
    • Send it by text the same day the job is done.
    • Make it a habit: one ask per finished job.
  2. 2

    Protect your star rating

People compare stars before they call.

    • Ask every customer for a review, consistently, not only once in a while.
    • Reply calmly to unhappy reviews and offer to make it right offline.
    • Never offer gifts or discounts in exchange for reviews.
  3. 3

    Keep reviews coming every month

A profile whose newest review is a year old looks closed.

    • Set a monthly reminder to send review requests.
    • Spread asks out instead of sending them all at once.
  4. 4

Reply to every review within 48 hours

Replies show the next customer someone is paying attention.

    • Thank the person by name and mention the job.
    • Keep replies short and specific; no copy-paste.
    • For a bad review: acknowledge, apologise, and invite them to call.
  5. 5

Upload at least 10 real photos

Photos show what you actually do.

    • Add your logo, a cover photo, your team, your work and your vehicle or storefront.
    • Use real photos, not stock images.
    • Add a few new ones every month.
  6. 6

    Add your website link

Give people a way to check you out before they call.

    • Edit profile → Contact → Website.
    • Use a page that loads fast on a phone.
  7. 7

    Set your hours, including holidays

Missing hours make people guess, then call someone else.

    • Edit profile → Hours.
    • Add special hours before holidays.
    • Service-area businesses: set the hours you take calls.
  8. 8

List a phone number that gets answered

Most local customers want to call.

    • Edit profile → Contact → Phone number.
    • Use a number that rings a person during your listed hours.
  9. 9

    Post an update every week

Posts show your profile is looked after.

    • Add an update: a finished job, a tip, or an offer.
    • Include a photo and a call button.
    • Pick one day a week and stick to it.
  10. 10

    Check your category and services

The wrong category can hide you from the right searches.

    • Pick the most specific primary category that fits what you do.
    • List each service you offer.
    • Write your own business description in plain words.

These steps improve how complete your profile looks. They don’t guarantee rankings.
